Cayo Levantado Resort & Research Center

To help protect and restore the rich floral diversity of the Samaná Peninsula and the Dominican Republic, we plant protected species from the National Botanical Garden throughout the resort and the cay. Cayo Levantado Resort also acts as a Research Center for these endangered plant species in a comprehensive project to establish the island as a biodiversity conservation leader.

Clean Energy & Water

To provide clean energy to our Eco paradise, Cayo Levantado Resort integrates photovoltaic panels and a waste biodigestion system to power our operations. We also operate our own potable water production plant, generating up to 6,000 liters daily by extracting humidity from the air. We bottle this water on the island in glass containers, eliminating the use of plastics to help protect marine life.

Eco-Bahia Foundation at Cayo Levantado Resort

At Cayo Levantado Resort, we have fully dedicated environmental Curators and stewards including the Eco-Bahia Foundation. They spearhead our conservation efforts through exploration and innovative projects, to engage guests and staff in environmental initiatives and foster a shared commitment to protecting the island's ecosystem for future generations.
